Pro-Palestinians vow to shun supremacists

“Neo-Nazis and white supremacists from Georgia to Europe are stepping up efforts to forge ties with Arab groups and governments who share their hatred of Israel. Some homeowners in Atlanta and North Georgia recently found leaflets in their mailboxes from the white supremacist New Order.
The fliers had a picture of the World Trade Center towers burning and the words: ‘Want to stop terrorism? Tell your government to stop subsidizing Israeli genocide against Palestine.’
Pro-Palestinian groups in Atlanta have been approached this year by the National Alliance, another supremacist group, as well as other anti-Israeli groups claiming to support a Palestinian homeland… ‘It’s something we have to live with and start dealing with,’ said Adam Levenstein, who is Jewish and a member of Atlanta Palestine Solidarity.
‘We want nothing to do with these people.’ Samir Moukaddam, Southern regional director for the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, recalls at least three episodes within the last year in which anti-Jewish groups tried to co-opt his committee’s anti-Israel message.
‘They sometimes approach us stealthily or show up and say, “We’ve been following the news and we are supporters and I can’t believe what the Israelis are doing to the Palestinians,”’ Moukaddam said. ‘At some point, they start saying, “Jews are this and Jews are that.”’”
