Israeli occupation generates lots of violence of its own

“Occupation, land confiscation, indiscriminate arrests, and police and military violence all add up to the same kind of terrorism often associated with Arab extremism. Ironically, ‘occupation terrorism’ results in more civilian deaths than the more horrific suicide bombings that get the majority of the American media’s attention. Since the current intifada three years ago, Israelis have killed 2,216 Palestinians, including 12 Israeli Arabs, nine foreign citizens and 389 victims under the age of 18. During the same period, Palestinians killed 768 Israelis, including 190 settlers, 346 in Israel, seven foreign citizens and 72 minors. Nearly three times as many Palestinians are killed by the Israeli occupation than Israelis are killed by retaliation attacks and suicide bombings. Which is the more violent?… The Israelis love to talk about the trees they plant in Israel, but they never talk about the trees owned by Palestinians that they uproot.”
