“BETHLEHEM, West Bank — Christmas crowds are back in Bethlehem… ‘This year is much better,’ said Elias Arja, who owns a hotel in the town and heads the local hotel association… Saliba Nissan, who runs an olive wood workshop, said sales were still below what they were… Mayor Hanna Hanania said the town expected thousands of visitors… Bassem Giacaman, a shop owner, said pilgrims were buying again… Israel controls access to the town, which is ringed by its separation barrier…”
