“JERUSALEM, Palestine, Dec. 25 (UP)—Christmas Day assassins, believed to be members of the secret Arab army, shot and killed another wealthy Arab landowner, Emir Mohammed el Saleh, in full daylight in Haifa today amid a 24-hour Holy Land celebration of the birth of Christ. El Saleh, millionaire property owner who had sold thousands of acres to the Jewish National Fund for the establishment of Jewish settlements, was killed by assailants firing from a taxicab. Among land sold to Jews were the tracts on which the Jewish National Fund established the Tel Joseph, Ein Herod and other settlements in the Beisan area of northern Palestine near the Sea of Gallilee.”
