“Jerusalem, Jan. 12 (Reuters) — The Palestine Arabs Medical Association today appealed to Palestine Arabs to boycott Jewish doctors ‘since the Jewish Medical profession was primarily interested in furthering Zionist aims.’ They also urged Arab doctors not to prescribe Jewish manufactured pharmaceutical preparations. The appeal said that Palestine was one of the ‘most highly doctored’ countries in the world with more than 2,500 Jewish doctors and 340 Arab doctors. The boycott will be a long-term plan with no apparent results for at least six months, Ali Dajani, secretary of the Palestine Arab Chambers of Commerce, who is working out technical details, said today. ‘It will be applied by peaceful persuasion and no violence will be used to those disobeying the Arab League edict (to boycott Zionist products and manufactures).’ ‘We completely disassociate ourselves from terrorist bodies such as “the Arab Blood Organization.”’ Dajani said that latest boycott moves by Arab economic experts include the formation of several new companies — with capital varying between 10,000 pounds sterling and 100,000 pounds sterling ($40,000 and $400,000 American) — designed in the long run to free Palestine Arabs from dependence on Jewish industry. In addition, an Arab trade drive for goods from Britain is now going on and Arab orders for British goods now waiting for import licences and shipping space total more than $4,000,000, Dajani said.”

The Chicago Tribune ran it as “ARAB DOCTORS ASK BOYCOTT OF JEWISH MEDICOS” and stopped after the sentence about peaceful persuasion — cutting Dajani’s disavowal of “terrorist bodies,” the whole economic programme and the British trade drive. Chicago also makes him secretary of “10 Palestine Arab chambers of commerce” and puts the boycott gloss in square brackets where Buffalo uses parentheses. Both scans are held.
