JERUSALEM, June 24.—(INS) Members of the Jewish resistance in bomb-scarred Palestine demanded suspension of the death sentence today for 30 extremists on trial for acts of sabotage. Broadcasts by the underground’s radio warned: “There is no price we are not willing to pay in order to save our brothers.”

Intensified anti-British attacks if death is decreed were threatened. SEARCH INTENSIFIED The Jewish “war of nerves” reached its highest pitch as British troops and police staged their most intensive search in Tel Aviv for kidnapers of five officers—two of whom were released Friday.

British military headquarters refused to confirm persistent reports that two other hostages were released yesterday. JEWISH FEARS Extremists on trial are accused of blowing up railroad bridges throughout the Holy Land in April.

Jewish circles fear they will feel the full weight of a new law permitting imposition of the death sentence against convicted members of armed outlaw groups. The secret broadcasts branded such British defense regulations a violation of “international rules of war.”

Jewish activity was apparent also in a barrage of leaflet bombs which burst in Tel Aviv as the searcheres made their rounds. The leaflets seek support for increased Jewish immigration into the Holy Land.
