“NEW YORK CITY — (AJP) — Key figures of anti-Zionism in America and England conferred in London recently and swapped shop talk in the problems of combatting world-wide proponents of the Jewish State, the American Jewish Press learned.

Rabbi Elmer Berger, executive director of the anti-Zionist American Council for Judaism, met with leading anti-Zionist and non-Zionist personalities in Britain during a two week stay in the country. Returned to the U. S., Rabbi Berger told the American Jewish Press that English anti-Zionists are ‘putting up the best fight they know how.’

Following conferences with several of the anti-Zionist leaders, Rabbi Berger said that ‘their only hope to combat Jewish nationalism’ lies in making their influence more strongly felt in the English-Jewish Association. The Association, which prior to the establishment of Israel maintained a neutral stand on Zionism, was reported by Rabbi Berger as now ‘pro-Zionist.’

‘What the anti-Zionists in England are trying to do,’ he said, ‘is concentrate their energies on bringing the English-Jewish Association back to its pro-Israel stand.’”
