ISRAELIS KILL 3 ARABS
Bedouins Slain in Negev in Attack on Army Patrol

Transcribed from the clipping
TEL AVIV, Israel, Sept. 20—Three Bedouins were killed yesterday by an Israel force searching the Negev wasteland for outlaws. Army headquarters here said the Arabs had been killed in an exchange of fire after they attacked an army patrol. There has been considerable military activity in the Negev since an upsurge of violence earlier this month.
An army captain was ambushed and killed Sept. 7. A land mine was later found buried in a track and six Bedouins attacked an Israeli position. The Bedouins suspected of the incidents belong to the Sinai tribe Sarahin. The nomads camped from time to time in Israeli territory. Newspaper reports said this tribe had once been active in scouting and sabotage for Egyptians.
How this transcription was made
Read from the scan by a machine looking at the image of the page, not by optical character recognition and not by a person. The clipping carries no masthead or date line, so its date and newspaper rest on the record it arrived with, not on anything visible in the scan.
