Israel’s new U.N. ambassador says ‘Arab decade’ in Middle East is over
Frank P. L. Somerville, religion editor

Transcribed from the clipping
"The Arab decade is over," Benjamin Netanyahu triumphantly told his audience of nearly 1,000 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Baltimore. On the Palestine Liberation Organization: "We smashed the PLO." This "did not happen accidentally," he said. One important result, he said, is that "no longer is the PLO able to say it represents the Palestinian Arabs." He added that "no one at the U.N. talks about Israel as a pariah state any more."
Context added by this archive
His first appearance in this archive. The argument that Palestinians have no legitimate representative is already fully formed.
