“How irresponsible the opening words are in the Sept. 16 editorial, ‘Arafat Must Go’: ‘Let us be honest about Yasser Arafat. He is not a man of peace … He must go.’ Half a truth can be as dishonest as any lie. Your words reflect the moral bankruptcy of U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. Sure, Arafat is no prince of peace.
Neither is Ariel Sharon every bit the war criminal Arafat is claimed to be. The Register espouses the same hypocrisy the U.S. government practices in its blind support of the criminal, lethal actions of the state of Israel against the people of Palestine.
Outside of Palestine and Israel, U.S. hypocrisy is the single major reason for the continued blood bath and killing going on in these ancient and Holy Lands… There are people in Palestine and Israel who truly want peace and are willing to work toward that goal. Editorials like the Register’s ‘Arafat Must Go,’ do not help them get closer to their goals.”
