The PLO’s goal is equal rights, say Palestinians in America

“The long-term solution for Palestinians, as uttered by the PLO and all their supporters, has come to be called ‘a democratic secular state’ in what is now Israel, Gaza and the West Bank, where Jew, Moslem and Christian could work out an existence where all had equal social and political rights.
Needless to say, even most Palestinians acknowledge that Israeli military power and policies would make such a solution impossible… There are about 732,000 in the West Bank and about 400,000 in Gaza. The non-Jewish population of Israel is 530,000, and it is overwhelmingly Palestinian.
So about half of all Palestinians are now under Israeli rule… It is believed that 500,000 more live in Lebanon, Egypt and Syria. Of the Palestinians outside of Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, about 640,000 live in refugee camps.”
